SHOFAR, SHO GOOD

Blowing the shofar is way too much fun to just appoint someone – everyone should have the chance. So, come to Town Park’s band shell at 4 p.m. Oct. 2. We’ll settle the matter Simon Says-style.

Contestants will stand in a line. The rabbi will take turns giving each contestant a call. Each time you get the call right, you get to take a step forward. First one across the finish line wins.

The overall winner, regardless of religion, gets a $25 gift certificate to Brennan’s Ice Cream. The first place Jewish winner gets to blow the shofar for services.

Ties will be broken by whoever can blow the shofar the longest.

Don’t have a shofar? Come anyway – we’ll loan you one.
